Looking To Hire?

As an employer and member of our business community, your role is so important to the North Okanagan. We’re here to help you find and keep the employees your business needs to thrive.

Wage Subsidy

Are you ready to grow your team but need support to help with the cost of training someone new? WorkBC’s Wage Subsidy Service provides funding, to an eligible employer, to subsidize a potential new employees’ wages. The service is an incentive for the employer to hire and provide work experience to an eligible person who has been identified as needing work experience.

Reimbursement of wages can be up to 50 per cent of an hourly wage for up to 24 weeks. We are also able to provide a longer support period if you, the employer, are interested in hiring a person with disabilities (up to 78 weeks). Wage Subsidy Services also include support with resolving any issues, job coaching, encouragement, job site accommodations (and more) as a way to facilitate long term and successful job retention.

Employers and job seekers (potential new hires) are required to meet certain criteria and we encourage you to connect with our Wage Subsidy Advisor should you have any questions.
